Lose 10 Pounds in a Week
Losing weight fast isn’t easy, but it also isn’t as hard as you’ve been led to believe. By making small changes and sticking to them you absolutely can be looking at a slimmer, sexier you in the mirror before you know it.
Below, you’ll find easy ways to lose 10 pounds in a week. Try and stick to them all and you’ll kick your fat loss into overdrive or finally get rid of that last bit of chub that’s been refusing to go away!
How to lose 10 pounds in a week
Don’t Eat Out: No matter how healthy a choice you plan on making, eating out rather than at home is almost always a poor choice. A 2014 study found that those who ate out (regardless of whether it was fast food or a full-service restaurant) consumed 200 calories more each day!
Over just 12 weeks, that means a gain of more than 5 pounds! Commit to eating only home-made meals for the next week — I’ll bet you be surprised how little you miss eating out! (I’m sure your wallet will thank you too.)
Have More Sex: It won’t just make you feel good and relieve stress, it’s also a great way to cut that flab. A half-hour roll in the hay burns between 150-200 calories. Being on top is a terrific thigh workout, and moaning will burn another 18-30 calories, so don’t be shy!
Say Goodbye to Alcohol: Drinking alcohol is a massive diet-killer for many reasons, but today we’ll just be looking at calories. And no, you’re not safe just because you don’t drink beer. Liquor is also a big no-no.
Take our old favorite vodka, for example: just one standard 1.5 ounce shot of an 80 proof vodka is almost 100 calories. Surprising, right? But it gets worse… 100 proof varieties will set you back 125 calories per shot. This week you’ll be getting buzzed off of how great you’re going to look soon — not alcohol!
Ditch Bread: For the next 7 days, all your sandwiches are going to be animal-style! Just the quick and easy change of getting rid of bread will save about 80 calories and 15g of carbs per slice!
Brush Your Chompers: Brushing your teeth more often won’t just make your dentist happy, it will also help you cut calories! How? The fresh, clean feeling you get after brushing will leave you less likely to indulge in mindless snacking. Make sure you’re brushing after each meal, and in between as well if you’re going to go more than a few hours before you eat again!
Let’s Team Up: Find a friend or loved one you trust and share your goals with them. Keep each other on track and don’t accept excuses! At the end of the week, you’ll be looking and feeling better and may even have a new workout buddy you can share diet and exercise tips with!
Time to Meditate: It’s great for stress and even lowering your blood pressure, but did you know meditation can help you lose weight as well? It works by helping us to avoid binges and emotional eating.
Remember to look for these things when you’re going to meditate: a peaceful location, a comfortable posture such as sitting or lying, something to focus your attention on, and an open, receptive attitude.
Chug That Water: Your brain confuses thirst for hunger, so over the next week we’ll be drinking 2 cups of water 30 minutes before each meal. Researchers studied obese adults and found those who did lost 9.48 pounds over a 12-week period!
Eat With a Purpose: Nutrition researcher John Barban has long been known for his focus on the inherent differences between men and women when it comes to getting results from diet and exercise. He recently started emphasizing what he calls the “5 wonder veggies for women.”
Studies showed that when women added these common vegetables to their diet their metabolisms (and as a result, weight loss) increased significantly, regardless of the woman’s lifestyle or body shape. Learn the 5 veggies in this video (1:05 mark) that explains how it works.
